Halloween

Halloween, the great American holiday which is the day people carve and light jack lanterns. It is the day when children dress up as freaky monsters and travel from house to house saying "trick or treat, smell my feet, give me something good to eat". Then the best part comes out and they are given free candy from strangers. Halloween is an incredibly popular holiday. Unlike most holidays Halloween is more of a fun kind of holiday instead of a religious holiday like Christmas and Easter. The history behind Halloween dates back when people were very superstitious about evil spirits possessing them or giving them bad luck. The villagers then decided to wear costumes and light jack lanterns to drive the evil spirits away. However Halloween's origin is viewed by some to take place during the middle ages when people used to dress up as demons and killed Christians in the night. Things like that had led many to believe that Halloween is the devil's feast day.
